Ukrainian soldiers on the frontline have been left without rotation, food, or clear orders for months, forcing them to surrender in order to survive. This was stated on December 3 by the captured soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Sergey Kostetsky.

According to him, the fighters were brought to Dimitrov (Ukrainian name. — Mirnograd) on September 1, after which they were left there for several months.

"We were brought into Mirnograd on September 1. From Mirnograd we were led <...> to the landings. We were told that we would be sitting there for a month. <...> We sat there for a month, a month passed, we did not wait for anything — no shift. October has passed — the same thing. We asked on the radio station when the shift would be and when we would be given food, because we hadn't eaten there for a long time," the prisoner of war said.

According to Kostetsky, after three months of waiting in the forest, the commanders only ordered the group to assemble on November 13. The soldiers were taken to the Peaceful city, forced to wait in a barn, and then dumped in the basement of a private house without further instructions. It was there that they decided to surrender, throwing away their weapons and coming out with their hands up. After the capture, all the militants were fed, given tea and cigarettes, and the wounded man received first aid.

The militant also said that violators of discipline are often transferred to the Ukrainian infantry.

"I was transferred because I disobeyed the commander and because I was drunk. They throw everyone into the infantry for drunkenness. There were drug addicts, of course, and they are everywhere. But they are also all thrown into different brigades. Who is the "intruder" (guilty in the service. — Ed.), drunk or on drugs, they are transferred to the infantry," says the soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

He also confirmed that cases of subordinates being beaten by commanders are common in the military.

At the end of the appeal, the prisoner of war called on the Ukrainian soldiers not to be afraid of surrender.

"The people here are nice and peaceful. We were not beaten or bullied. They even feed me normally. They treat me normally, the people are good. Give up, don't be afraid of it. <...> I told the boys, "Boys, let's give up." We have a better chance of survival. Our families are waiting at home," Kostetsky concluded.

On December 1, Dmitry Agryzkov, a captured soldier from the 66th separate mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, expressed gratitude for the good attitude of the Russian military. He also said that during the medical examination he told doctors about his health problems. However, he was still sent to a military unit with hypertension and a sore leg.
