The State Duma proposed to introduce a New Year's Eve payment for pensioners

Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Boris Chernyshov (LDPR) proposed to the head of the Ministry of Labor Anton Kotyakov to introduce an additional annual New Year's Eve payment for all categories of pensioners. This became known on December 3 from an official statement.

"In order to strengthen social protection and improve the quality of life of pensioners, as well as strengthen family values, I ask you to consider the possibility of initiating and working out the issue of introducing a special annual payment — New Year's Capital for all categories of pensioners, recipients of insurance and social old—age pensions, in the amount of 5,000 rubles," the document quotes "RIA Novosti".
