Work on the new Lada minivan continues, but it is planned to present it when "the market will revive" and "will be able to meet demand." This was stated by the head of AVTOVAZ Maxim Sokolov at the VTB forum "Russia is calling!", reports TASS on December 2.

"The market in 2025 was very sluggish, and therefore there is definitely no time for new, let's say, models, and even in such a fairly narrow segment. This is not a mass—produced model, not sedans, not crossovers," Sokolov said.

The head of AVTOVAZ noted that it is planned to introduce the new model to the market in conditions when the market will begin to revive and will be able to meet demand, and the business model of launching this project will be effective.

In March of this year, Sergey Gromak, Vice president of AvtoVAZ, reported that the company plans to release a new family minivan in 2027, which will be designed for seven seats, including the driver. According to him, the model has already been developed, and the total investment in the project will amount to 21 billion rubles.

At the same time, Maxim Sokolov said that AvtoVAZ expects to present a minivan at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in 2026.

Earlier, on November 27, it became known that AvtoVAZ is currently planning to return to a full five-day working week from January 2026 due to a higher production plan.
