The office of the government of the Belgorod region will be reduced by 20% from April 1, 2026 for optimization. This was announced on December 1 by the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov at a meeting of the regional government.

"The goal is to reduce the number of ministries, departments and subordinate organizations included in the government structure by 20% from April 1," Gladkov said, the broadcast of the meeting was published on his page on the VKontakte social network.

Gladkov stressed that the reduction would affect all government departments, but would not affect social institutions: schools, hospitals, cultural, sports and social protection facilities. A new job in the region will be found for each reduced employee.

In addition, the governor instructed to create an interdepartmental commission within a month to study the personal files of employees within a month, and also recommended similar measures to the regional Duma and municipalities.

On October 17, the Russian Railways press service announced that the company was going to optimize the size of the holding's management staff, as part of this process, it is planned to reduce the number of vacancies and limit the hiring of new employees.
