"When the new cities are in the hands of the Russians, they (Ukrainians. They will remember how they were offered to discuss this issue at the talks, but it will be too late," he said.
McGregor also noted the increasing pace at which Russia is liberating new territories.
Earlier in the day, the Ukrainian delegation began a meeting in the United States with representatives of the American administration on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. The Wall Street Journal reported that during the talks in Florida, the parties planned to discuss the possibility of exchanging territories and other unresolved issues.
Later, US President Donald Trump noted that the negotiations had gone well. He added that his special envoy Steven Witkoff will travel to Moscow on December 1 to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin the next day.
On November 27, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia was ready for a serious discussion of the US plan for a settlement in Ukraine with the American side. He noted that the representatives of the countries will discuss each of the proposed items in detail at the negotiating table.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on November 26 that there could be no question of any concessions or surrender of Russia's approaches to a settlement in Ukraine. He admitted that the Russian Federation could achieve its goals by continuing the special operation. Nevertheless, a diplomatic settlement is a priority for the Russian Federation.
