Experts talked about the causes of migraines
Migraine is the third most common disease in the world, with about 17% of the population suffering from it in Russia. It is manifested by severe headaches, which can become chronic. Andrey Ratinov, a neurologist and vertebrologist, told about this on November 29. "Газете.Ru ".
"I see the most pronounced spasms in people living under conditions of chronic stress. For women, I often find the so-called "computer—handbag" option: a working pose plus a daily bag on one shoulder is a direct path to constant cramping," explained Ratinov.
He noted that one of the hidden causes of migraines may be cervical spasms, which cause reflected pain that begins in the neck and increases with turns or tilts of the head. Often such pain is one-sided and is accompanied by tension in the back of the head or a feeling of a "heavy head".
According to him, neck muscle strain and headaches can occur due to an unsuitable pillow. If it is too high or too soft, the neck remains in an uncomfortable position during sleep, the muscles work instead of resting, which gradually forms microspasms.
Ratinov notes that in most patients, adjusting the sleeping position and changing the pillow helps significantly reduce the frequency of headaches.
Marina Vlasova, category manager at ORMATEK, added that when choosing a pillow, it is important to take into account the height and stiffness, as well as the filler, which should support the neck in the correct position, preventing cramps.
Earlier, on November 28, Alexandra Fileva, a dermatologist and expert at the Hemotest laboratory, said that the popularity of cosmetic procedures at home is growing, because it is convenient and, most importantly, profitable: at least you do not have to pay for the rent of the premises. However, the apparent savings may conceal serious health risks.
