The searches conducted at the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Ermak, may be related to the pressure of the American administration on the Ukrainian leadership. This is reported by the Ukrainian edition "Страна.иа ".

"Washington, through the hands of the National Anti—Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, makes it clear to [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky that the situation is extremely serious for him and it is time to adjust his position on the peace plan," the newspaper writes in its Telegram channel.

According to the newspaper, observers attribute this to increased pressure on the Ukrainian authorities to adopt the peace plan of US President Donald Trump.

On the same day, Ermak's resignation became known. He also spoke about plans to hold consultations on the candidacy of the new head of the office of the President.

On November 28, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced that searches had been conducted at Ermak's. It was clarified that they are being conducted as part of a criminal case on corruption of businessman Timur Mindich (he is called the head of the criminal scheme). Later, RBC-Ukraine reported that charges had not been brought against anyone from President Zelensky's office after searches of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) at Andriy Ermak's.

In addition, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the corruption scandal in Ukraine could lead to complications in its negotiations with the United States. He noted that the consequences of this scandal could be very severe for the political system of Ukraine, and could also complicate the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict.
