- During the implementation of the HSR project, it is planned to obtain over 100 unique patents.
The Research Institute of Railway Transport has conducted new tests of components for the first in Russia on the experimental ring in the Moscow–St. Petersburg high-speed railway (HSR). The work of the unique equipment was evaluated on November 28 by the General Director of Russian Railways (RZD) Oleg Belozerov.
More than 150 enterprises are working on the project, and more than 100 new unique patents are expected to be obtained. Belozerov was presented with a test bench for the inertial braking system, which allows testing in even the harshest climate.
"We accelerated the wheel to a speed of 400 km / h and performed emergency braking — this is one of the most difficult elements, on the basis of which a conclusion is made about the quality of the selected materials and the overall operation of the system," said the General director of Russian Railways.
Belozerov noted that the stand makes it possible to test wheels not only within the framework of one system, but also generates weather conditions on its own. According to him, not only the assembly, but also each individual element of the trains is now reaching a new level.
Earlier, on October 2, Belozerov announced that the assembly of the first wagons for the Russian high-speed train will begin in the first months of 2026. He specified that the design and production of rolling stock is carried out on the basis of domestic technologies. Every element of a high-speed train, including trolleys and braking systems, is unique, Belozerov concluded.
