This year, St. Petersburg's budget revenues increased by 77.7 billion rubles, more than the previously approved plan suggested. The autumn budget adjustment, adopted by the legislative Assembly, was approved on November 28 by Governor Alexander Beglov, the press service of the city administration reported.

Revenue growth was achieved by increasing the city's own revenues by 66.8 billion rubles and gratuitous receipts, which amounted to 10.9 billion rubles. The budget deficit decreased to 101.2 billion rubles.

Beglov explained that the autumn budget adjustment strengthens the social support of Petersburgers. Thus, by reducing the deficit and rejecting new loans this year, the city will strengthen its financial foundation.

"Taking into account the adjustments, the city's revenues in 2025 will amount to 1 trillion 406 billion rubles, expenses — 1 trillion 507 billion rubles," Alexey Korabelnikov, St. Petersburg's Vice governor for Finance, added in his Telegram channel.

Earlier, on October 29, Beglov submitted to the Legislative Assembly a draft city budget for 2026-2028. He announced the amounts that are planned to be used to pay the participants of the special military operation (SVO) and support their families. The head of St. Petersburg stressed that the city provides all possible support to the participants of the special military operation and their families. So, 25.7 billion rubles will be allocated for one-time payments to fighters in 2026.
