- The Interior Ministry talked about ways to detect fraud when buying tickets for holidays.
Scammers have become more active on social networks and messengers before the New Year holidays, distributing links to phishing sites selling tickets to various events, but they should not be trusted. On November 28, the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia warned about this, listing the main signs of fake sites.
By attracting buyers with the "lowest price" or "best seats for concerts", after paying for a ticket at such venues, the received QR code turns out to be invalid. Or the money is simply debited, and even the code does not arrive in response.
"How to recognize a fake website: there is no other information except the offer to buy tickets, legal details (INN, addresses), contact phone numbers, links to the offer and privacy policy are not specified," the department's Telegram channel reported.
For feedback fraudsters usually use public email services like Google, Yahoo, Mail, and others, as well as messengers. In addition, the payment method indicates a transfer to third-party organizations or individuals.
The Interior Ministry advised choosing trusted sites with a secure connection: the letters HTTPS and the lock icon should be in the address bar. The date of creation of the resource should also be indicated — fraudsters' pages do not exist for long, and official portals have been functioning for years.
Head of BI.On November 27, Dmitry Kiryushkin, in an interview with Izvestia, warned that fraudsters had created a new deception scheme on the eve of the New Year. So, they send out warnings that individuals need to pay taxes by December 1, 2025. Using this, attackers can actively create bots, channels and other platforms disguised as resources of tax authorities.
On November 22, the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry named the main fraud schemes in 2025. The most common of these were the transfer of money to "secure accounts", investments in cryptocurrency, phishing links and prepayment for goods.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
