On Friday, November 28, the main ice crossing opened in Yamal — between Salekhard and Labytnangi. The winter truck will work for passenger transport and small trucks, the press service of the regional Department of Transport reports.

The car service was launched at 3 p.m. in two lanes at once. Passage is allowed for all types of transport weighing up to 3.5 tons. Drivers are advised to clear the entrances to the checkpoint.

Before the opening of traffic, the ice surface was checked by a commission with the participation of specialists from the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District Road Directorate, the traffic police and Yamalavtodor.

According to the <url> news agency, despite the launch of the winter road, passenger transportation by the Neptune-23 hovercraft will continue. The last flight will take place on November 28 at 20:00 from Salekhard.
