- Ingosstrakh insured the risks of launching the Soyuz MS-28 transport ship and the Soyuz-2-1a launch vehicle
Ingosstrakh, one of the leaders of the Russian insurance market, together with other insurers insured the risk of complete loss of a manned transport vehicle with launch facilities at the launch stage until the opening of the transition hatch of the spacecraft's docking unit with the International Space Station (ISS). The launch took place on November 27 from the Baikonur cosmodrome.
The company always fully fulfills its obligations to customers. Ingosstrakh paid record amounts for the Russian space insurance market. The largest payment in the history of Russian insurance remains the compensation made by Ingosstrakh — 7.5 billion rubles in connection with the death of the Express-AM4 spacecraft in 2014.
The Soyuz-2-1a launch vehicle went into space with paintings of children undergoing cancer treatment on the body. This is the first time in the world history of rocket science and manned space exploration that children's drawings will become part of a space launch. The project is being implemented as part of the charity program "Rocket of Dreams" of the UNITY Foundation, where Ingosstrakh acted as a partner.
"It is a great honor for us to become a partner of such a significant project, which gives hope and inspires self-confidence. It is important for Ingosstrakh to support charitable initiatives, as this is consistent with our values — to provide confidence and be a support for those who need it so much. We are convinced that bright and deep emotions will make a significant contribution to the recovery of the children," said Alexey Galakhov, First Deputy General Director of Ingosstrakh.
