Khabarovsk Territory took the second place in Russia in terms of catch of Pacific salmon. The results of Putin's 2025 were summed up at a meeting of the Far Eastern Basin Scientific and Commercial Council. It was held under the leadership of the head of Rosrybolovstvo Ilya Shestakov.
For Russia, which ranks first in the world in this indicator, the actual figures were higher than the initial forecasts. The scientists refined them as the fish approached. So, 335.5 thousand tons of salmon were produced this year, 100 thousand tons more than in 2024, IA AmurMedia writes with reference to the joint press service of Rosrybolovstvo. According to Shestakov, the domestic market is fully supplied with red fish and caviar.
Kamchatka remains the main mining region, followed by the Khabarovsk Territory. Putin's campaign began on May 20 in Primorye, and ends in the Southern Kuril Islands at the end of November. Preparations for the 2026 campaign have already begun.
Earlier, on November 27, it was reported that in Russia the production of red caviar per person in January – September this year amounted to 74.4 g, which is almost 1.4 times more than last year. In total, 10.9 thousand tons of caviar were produced in the country, which is 3.1 thousand tons more than in the same period last year (7.8 thousand tons). Thus, in the first nine months of this year, 74.4 g of red caviar per Russian citizen, which significantly exceeds the 53.7 g produced in the same period a year earlier.
