The Moscow City Court has commuted the sentence of Darvol jewelry brand owner Daria Spiridonova, who is accused of fraud on an especially large scale with jewelry. This was reported on November 27 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

Spiridonova's sentence was reduced by two months. The owner of the jewelry brand will stay in the colony for 6 years and 10 months.

Earlier, on July 29, Spiridonova's lawyers filed a complaint against the verdict of the Khamovniki Court in Moscow. Prior to this, the entrepreneur's defense informed Izvestia that they did not agree with the decision of the court of first instance. The lawyers insisted that the court had not taken into account the presence of Spiridonova's two minor children, one of whom is disabled (with cancer).

On July 21, the Khamovniki Court of the capital found Spiridonova guilty and sentenced her to seven years in a general regime penal colony in a case of large-scale jewelry fraud. She was also deprived of the right to engage in managerial activities in commercial organizations for three years.

According to investigators, while holding the position of CEO of Darvol, Spiridonova fraudulently received money from friends of citizens under the pretext of selling jewelry, after which she embezzled money without fulfilling obligations.
