About 300 facades of houses on well-maintained streets will be repaired in Moscow

Pyotr Biryukov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Landscaping, said on Wednesday, November 26, that urban management specialists would renovate about 300 facades of houses located on the streets, which would be landscaped in 2025. He noted that the improvement programs pay special attention to a unified visual appearance, which can be achieved by updating the facades. According to him, different technologies have been developed for each type of building to fully restore its technical condition and appearance.

Biryukov explained that when repairing painted panel facades, the geometry of the panels is first adjusted, then the inter-panel seams are sealed, after which the surface is primed and painted in two layers, writes RT. Facades lined with small-sized tiles are repaired using a polymer-cement mixture and reinforcing meshes, which ensures a service life of at least 30 years. Brick buildings are undergoing hydrophobization to protect them from destruction due to moisture, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

He stressed that such work improves the appearance of houses and increases their energy efficiency.
