The wind of Seversk: Russian troops surround another Ukrainian Armed Forces group

During the fighting in the north of the Donetsk People's Republic, the Russian army is cutting off the so-called Seversky salient, where a powerful combat-ready enemy group is concentrated. A situation is currently being created there similar to what we see in the area of Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov, military expert Alexei Leonkov told Izvestia.
— Fighting is already underway in Seversk itself, moreover, our forces are now covering it with strikes from the north and south. According to some reports, our units need to walk about 8 km before it is completely isolated," the expert noted. — If about 10 thousand were surrounded in Krasnoarmeysk and Dimitrov, about 5.5 thousand in the Kupyansk area, and in Seversk, I think about 3.5 thousand Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers fall into the pocket.
Our troops are conducting a complex operation, the expert explained.
— It is not easy to approach Seversk, — Alexey Leonkov noted. — Experienced units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have always been stationed in the area of the city. In addition, a powerful artillery fist supported them from Slavyansk and Kramatorsk. Large forces of enemy unmanned aircraft have traditionally operated here.
No one will persistently comb the entire city block by block in the near future, the expert believes.
— It is possible that our troops will try to squeeze the garrison out of Seversk towards Slavyansk, — Alexey Leonkov believes. — As the opening for the withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is getting smaller and smaller, such a retreat will be associated with heavy losses of military equipment, of which there will be a lot in the pocket, as well as personnel.
The further advance of troops in the area has great prospects, military expert Vasily Dandykin told Izvestia.
"We will cut off an important ledge for the enemy, covering Slavyansk from the east," he noted. — After the liberation of Seversk, the way to this strategically important city will open for us. The enemy does not have enough resources and reserves to hold it. The loss of the ledge will lead to the fact that the position of the AFU group of troops in the Krasny Liman area will deteriorate significantly. As a result, we will be able to step up our actions along the long stretch of the front line from Seversk to Svyatogorsk.
For the first time, the fact that fighting is already taking place in Seversk itself was announced by the commander of the Yuzhnaya group, Sergei Medvedev, on November 20 during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the area of his military operation.
"We are seizing, blocking, and we will dissect it into parts and clean it up in the future," Sergei Medvedev said in response to a question from Russian President Vladimir Putin about the situation in the settlement.

Throughout the years of the military special operation, the enemy stubbornly held on to the Seversky salient, and there were good reasons for this, military expert Vladislav Shurygin told Izvestia.
"It was important for them to show that large territories of Donbass — almost a third of the DPR — are in their hands," he explained. — Thus, the Kiev authorities could wave a flag and say that Donbass is Ukrainian, they confidently hold it and will not give it to anyone. It is also worth considering that the supply of an entire section of the front was tied to Seversk. In addition, the city covered the approaches to Slavyansk.
Straightening the front line
Our troops are currently conducting a number of operations in Krasnoarmeysk, Kupyansk and Seversk aimed at straightening the front line, Vladislav Shurygin said.
"Completing them will allow the Russian Army to free up troops for further action," he said. — These forces can be deployed to Zaporizhia, Sumy, Kharkov or any other direction — it's up to us to decide where to strike the next blow.
The expert noted that now it is in our interests to quickly deal with the "pockets" where the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near Seversky, Kupyansk, Krasnoarmeysky and Dimitrov got.
— These are all the details of one big operation, which is now entering the final stage — it needs to be completed as soon as possible in order to move on to the next stage, — Vladislav Shurygin summed up.
The last frontier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbass
The main events in the near future will unfold on the Donbass arc: Slavyansk – Kramatorsk – Druzhkovka – Konstantinovka. They have long been declared impregnable fortresses by the enemy, military experts say.
— This is the last line of defense of the enemy in the territory of Donbass, — said Alexey Leonkov. — They have been preparing the defense there for a long time and building military logistics. Of course, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will try to stay here until the end, but the initiative is on our side. In general, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are in a bad position. Operations to deblock their troops are not successful — the attacks are repelled by our troops with heavy losses for them. The enemy is already complaining that their losses in advanced units reach 95% in a short time.
According to experts, the situation for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will worsen significantly in the near future.: There will be numerous attacks by our troops on the rear areas, a shortage of personnel, as well as transportation problems.
