There have been 274 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.
Over the past day, 274 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 31 people were killed and 331 injured. 24 of the dead were passengers and drivers. This was reported to Izvestia on November 26 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry.
22 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which one person was killed, and 26 more road users needed medical help. Half of the bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.
As a result of 112 road accidents, 69 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 43 outside their area of operation, seven pedestrians were killed, and another 110 were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 23 young pedestrians, 17 of whom were injured while crossing the roadway at designated locations. 36 accidents involving minors were also registered, in which 36 young road users were injured, including 11 passengers and two motor vehicle drivers. One child, a pedestrian, was killed.
So, in one of the settlements of the Moscow region in the evening, a 39-year-old female passenger car driver inadvertently ran into her two-year-old daughter, who was walking around the front of the car, when she started driving from a parking space. As a result of the accident, the girl died.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded parents of underage road users of the need to be more attentive to their children, trying to ensure maximum safety for them. Motorists were advised not to be distracted by extraneous phone conversations or smartphone conversations while driving, as well as thinking about work or personal problems, as these factors distract your attention while driving and can trigger an accident.
"Even a short absence or the slightest negligence of parental control over the behavior and leisure of children of preschool and primary school age often leads to injuries or deaths of young road users, even if they are very close to adults. Remember that the behavior of young children is unpredictable," said Police Colonel Sergei Hrantskevich, head of the Department for the Promotion of Road Safety and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
The department also called on drivers to strictly observe traffic regulations and be more careful on the roads of settlements and cities. Special care should be taken when starting traffic, performing maneuvers, or driving through courtyards and house territories, as well as road sections adjacent to kindergartens and schools.
On November 1, it was reported that following the results of the first nine months of 2025, a decrease in road traffic accidents was recorded in the Russian Federation. The number of road accidents decreased by 2.4% (94.9 thousand cases), the number of dead — by 3.4% (10.1 thousand people), injured — by 3% (117.7 thousand people).
