A criminal case has been opened in the Moscow suburb of Istra against the organizers of a private rehabilitation center for teenagers, Anna Khobotova, where minors were systematically tortured and held against their will. What is known about the crimes in the center

The Investigative Committee found that an organized criminal group had placed 24 minors between the ages of 11 and 17 in a private house in Dedovsk in order to make a profit by claiming to provide rehabilitation services. The building attracted no attention, the windows were covered with black film from the inside, and the children were not allowed outside.

According to the investigation, instead of psychological help, teenagers were subjected to systematic beatings and torture. As Izvestia found out, the center's students were forced to write the same phrase thousands of times around the clock: "While I am irresponsible about my responsibility, it deprives me of free time and hinders my recovery," tied up for untimely filling out the "diary of feelings," starved and stuffed dirty socks into my mouth.

One of the teenagers, 16—year-old Roman, is in intensive care in a comatose state with a diagnosis of kidney failure and multiple bruises. The boy also had abrasions, bruises and burns, and the chronic disease was not treated in a timely manner. His mother Svetlana said that the boy had been sleeping on the bare floor for two weeks without a mattress or a blanket. Rope marks, festering wounds and cuts were found on the teenager's body.

"It seemed that this was just a wonderful place, that it was so lucky that psychologists were engaged for 150 thousand rubles a month. They have a big house, they cook there themselves, they have a team, friends, they dance," Svetlana recalls.

She contacted the Khobotova center because of her son's phone. He was talking to the gadget all the time and behaved aggressively if the device was taken away.

The underage pupils of the center also claim that the arrested educator-consultant tried to persuade them to have sexual relations for violating internal rules.

How the criminal activity was uncovered

Law enforcement agencies conducted an inspection in a private house, where the windows were covered from the inside with black film. The local police, with the help of representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, entered the building, where they found unsanitary conditions and traces of illegal actions. The Istra City Prosecutor's Office took the case under special control.

Currently, the center's administrator and 18-year-old resident Milana Sh., who, according to the investigation, participated in the beatings of the students, have been detained. The involvement of psychologist-psychotherapist Anna Khobotova, who positioned herself as the head of the center and talked on social networks about "methods of working" with teenagers, is also being established.
