The criminal authority of Samara pleaded not guilty in the case of robberies
Sergei Stokozub, known in the criminal world by the nickname Samarsky, pleaded not guilty to extortion, robbery and occupying the highest position in the criminal hierarchy. This was reported on November 25 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
The second defendant, Amayak Galstyan, also pleaded not guilty in the case.
According to investigators, in July 1997, the repeatedly convicted Stockozub was given the status of a "thief in law" and took the highest position in the criminal hierarchy. Samarsky acted as the head of an organized group. In February 2014, Stokozub and his accomplices, threatening violence, demanded that the CEO of ElCom LLC transfer 2 million rubles and the right to use the legal entity's checking account to them. The man provided the attackers with access to the company's checking account and gave away more than 1.9 million rubles.
In addition, the defendants and their accomplice stole two cars belonging to the victim. The total cost of the cars is estimated at about 800 thousand rubles.
On November 10, the Moscow Regional Court extended the preventive measure in the form of detention for six months for Stokozub and Galstyan. At the same time, Stokozub's defense petitioned for a change in the preventive measure, arguing that there were no legitimate grounds for his continued detention. According to the lawyer, the arguments about the possible continuation of criminal activity, pressure on witnesses and concealment from the investigation have not been confirmed.
