As part of the All-Russian flu vaccination campaign, more than 73 million citizens were vaccinated, which is almost half of the country's population. This was announced on November 25 by Rospotrebnadzor.

It is specified that the situation with the incidence of seasonal respiratory infections worsened in the 47th week. Thus, the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza increased by 17.9%, and 6.4 thousand residents of the country were diagnosed with these diagnoses. Influenza A(H3N2) viruses predominate among the identified strains.

The incidence of COVID-19 in Russia increased by 13.8%, and about 8.2 thousand people were diagnosed.

According to Rospotrebnadzor, despite the increase in the incidence, vaccination will help reduce the risk of complications, hospitalization and death. Pregnant women, the elderly, and people with chronic illnesses are at risk.

Rospotrebnadzor also recommended avoiding crowded places, limiting contact with people and contacting doctors when the first signs of illness appear. The department also advised to ventilate the premises regularly, wash hands frequently or treat them with an antiseptic.

Earlier, on November 19, Rospotrebnadzor reported on the situation of meningococcal infection. The ministry noted that since the beginning of 2025, an increase in the incidence of meningococcal infection has been recorded in the country, but thanks to anti-epidemic measures, the spread of infection and the formation of large group foci were not allowed.
