On November 24, servicemen of the 85th Brigade of the Southern Group of Forces told Izvestia about the liberation of the Petrovskoye settlement on the southern outskirts of Seversk in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

"We calmly entered, took up a position, held, defended. We will continue to move forward," said the commander of the assault squad with the call sign Malek.

According to him, the Ukrainian militants were unable to hold the defense of the settlement, but they attempted to attack the Russian forces with Baba Yaga unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Malek added that Russian FPV drone operators were able to ram enemy drones.

Another soldier of the Southern Group of Forces with the call sign Hunter said that during the operation, the Russian military moved in small groups to clean up the settlement. He noted that the Ukrainian militants did not engage in open combat because they were very afraid.

"There are a lot of drones, the sky is dotted, we had to hide, we had to maneuver," the Russian serviceman summed up.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced Petrovsky's release on November 23. On the same day, the Russian military liberated the settlements of Tikhoe and Otradnoe in the Dnipropetrovsk region. In the area of responsibility of the Southern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, more than 225 militants, a tank, an armored combat vehicle, 19 conventional vehicles and two artillery pieces were lost.
