Senator Igor Murog said that Russian women with many children can retire early.

In conversation with aif.ru On Monday, November 24, he noted that the retirement age depends on how many children a woman has. He explained that mothers with many children can retire earlier: at the age of 57 with three children, at the age of 56 with four, and at the age of 50 with five or more. At the same time, you must have at least 15 years of insurance experience and at least 30 pension points. If a woman did not work and did not pay contributions, it will be difficult to apply for an insurance pension. Periods of child care (up to 1.5 years for each, but no more than six years in total) are included in the length of service and give retirement points — from 1.8 points for the first year to 5.4 for the third and fourth, up to a total of 24.3 points for four children.

The senator noted that in the absence of official seniority, a mother with many children can count on an old-age social pension, the amount of which is indexed annually and supplemented to the pensioner's subsistence level, if necessary.

Murog also stressed that starting in 2026, the restriction on the number of children will be lifted when calculating periods of care in the insurance record. He added that this would significantly increase the future pension of women with large families, and also recalled the available regional benefits and support measures that are regularly updated.

On November 21, Anton Kotyakov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection, announced at the Krasnoyarsk Demographic Forum that the number of large families in Russia has increased by more than 8% since the beginning of 2025 and amounts to about 2.9 million. Kotyakov drew attention to the fact that the number of children growing up in such families has increased, writes NSN. Previously, there were 8.9 million of them, and now the figure has reached 9.2 million. 360.ru .

Kotyakov announced the opening of demographic competence centers in 12 regions. He clarified that such centers have already been formed and are operating in 15 regions of the country, RT notes.

In October, Maria Lvova-Belova, the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights, proposed providing for the possibility of early retirement for fathers with many children. However, she did not name specific figures by which the retirement age for fathers with many children should be lowered.

In July Pravda.Ru She wrote that in the Russian Federation, large families want to be given a chance to receive social security housing out of turn. Such a bill has already been submitted to the State Duma, and if it passes, it will significantly improve the situation of thousands of families across the country.
