Since the introduction of the visa-free regime for Russian citizens in China, the tourist flow to China has grown significantly. This was reported by the Xinhua news Agency on November 24.

According to data from Beijing's Daxing International Airport, more than 63,000 Russian tourists have entered China since the start of the visa-free regime on November 9, which is almost 80% more than in the same period last year.

According to the main border control service of Shanghai, from September 15 to November 15, the number of Russian tourists entering China through all checkpoints amounted to 72 thousand people, among whom almost 85% used the visa-free regime.

In addition, according to the Manzhouli customs, during the reporting period, the number of tourists entering China from Russia through the Manzhouli highway checkpoint reached 40 thousand people. Their number increased by 60% year-on-year.

The agency notes that tourists from Russia are increasingly choosing a unique experience instead of standard tours. Thus, Russian citizens prefer medical tourism, which focuses on healthcare within the framework of traditional Chinese medicine.

"Many tourists come here to travel and shop, while others come specifically for the treatment of diseases such as cervical spondylosis and adhesive capsulitis," said Han Shimin, the head of the Hanjiu Moxibreezing clinic in Hunchun.

In addition, the Manzhouli City authorities are actively developing business tourism, which provides "universal" services to businessmen, including booking venues, translation services, and establishing business contacts.

The introduction of a visa-free regime for Russian citizens with a regular passport for up to 30 days became known on September 2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation reported that Russia has requested additional clarifications from China on the conditions of entry as part of the decision on visa-free entry.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced on September 18 that the Russian Federation was working on the issue of introducing a visa-free regime for Chinese citizens. She clarified that electronic visas are currently in effect, and it is possible to issue them promptly.
