The Russian Premier League (RPL) is investigating the causes of the conflict between fans after the Spartak–CSKA match. This was announced on November 23 by the RPL press service.

"The Russian Premier League, together with Spartak football Club, using modern security systems at the Lukoil Arena stadium, are investigating all the circumstances of the incident, including the sequence of events preceding the conflict between some fans and the causes of its occurrence," the press service said.

According to Sport-Express, the league stressed that they consider any violence at stadiums unacceptable and called on fans to treat each other with respect. RPL and FC Spartak are ready to provide maximum assistance to law enforcement agencies to identify all participants in the incident and take appropriate measures.

On November 22, Kirill Breido, CSKA's director of communications, said that the capital's club expects a quick trial from law enforcement officials in connection with an incident in which Spartak fans beat an army fan after a match. Braido accompanied his post with a video clip showing a fight that had broken out.

The meeting of the teams took place the day before at the Otkritie Bank Arena stadium and ended with a score of 1:0 in favor of Spartak. The only goal in the 67th minute was scored by midfielder Christopher Martins.
