The Msta-S self-propelled artillery unit (ACS) of the self-propelled artillery regiment of the 27th Guards Motorized Rifle Division of the 2nd Guards Combined Arms Army of the Center group of forces destroyed a stronghold and mortar crew of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) formations in the Red Army area of the special military operation (SVO). This was announced on November 23 by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"The target arrived, we worked on the enemy's stronghold, everything hit the target, the job was done perfectly. <...> We help our guys, work is carried out almost around the clock on combat duty, we shoot a lot, a lot," said gun commander Valentin Sokolov.

The soldier noted that his team is cohesive and well-coordinated. Having been in the area of his military training for just over three months, he added that his unit was "doing well," and also stressed that his children, who were waiting for him at home with a victory, were proud of him.

The ministry clarified that the gunners fired several sniper volleys, as a result of which the main firing points and the mortar crew were destroyed, which contributed to the further advance of the assault units in this direction.

"There are no difficulties, there are tasks that need to be completed. All the tasks set, they are always completed, the goals are achieved. I can tell from the car that this is the ultimate aerobatics of our equipment," said another Russian fighter, senior gunner Vladislav Lomakin.

Being a native of Tyumen, whose wife and three daughters are waiting at home, he said that he had wanted to go to the front line — to help protect the residents of Donbass — since 2014, but joined his regiment 10 years later — in March 2024.

Andrei Yuryev, the loader of the Msta-S self-propelled gun, said that his constantly guarded military equipment had to work for different purposes. The fighter clarified that all the movements of the installation are always coordinated with the elders. He also noted the friendship and organization of his team, which he joined six months ago, driven by his desire to help the Motherland.

"My wife, friends and family have supported me very well, blessed me, so to speak. <...> Now they support me in every possible way," he summed up.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation noted the high professionalism and coherence of the actions of this regiment, which continue to honorably fulfill all assigned combat missions to liberate the land of Donbass.
