The heads of three European states — Germany, Italy and France — Friedrich Merz, Giorgia Meloni and Emmanuel Macron, respectively, may pay a visit to the United States to discuss US President Donald Trump's plan for a settlement in Ukraine. This was reported on November 22 by Sky News channel.

"Discussions are underway about whether European leaders such as Macron and Meloni can travel to Washington to talk with Trump," the article says.

It also notes that they may make a potential visit early next week. At the same time, one of the diplomatic staff, in an interview with the TV channel, clarified that all European politicians, after the plan was announced by the White House, are trying to behave "very carefully", refraining from sharply criticizing it, so as not to aggravate the already "delicate situation."

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on the same day that European supporters of the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine want to influence Washington to prevent a sustainable peaceful settlement. Der Spiegel magazine learned on November 22 that EU politicians were developing counter-versions of the plan, which were forwarded to Washington. The article emphasized that Trump's initiative in its current form was rejected by the main European states, as well as Japan and Canada.
