Tokayev supports Trump's peace plan to resolve conflict in Ukraine
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has supported US President Donald Trump's peace plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on November 21 by the press service of the President of the Republic.
"In the current geopolitical situation, I support the efforts of US President Donald Trump to resolve the situation in Ukraine, as well as the plan presented by him," he is quoted as saying on the Telegram channel of the press service.
According to Tokayev, Kazakhstan also welcomes the joint consideration of peace initiatives by Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Earlier in the day, Bild newspaper reported that Germany had expressed concern about Trump's peace plan. It was noted that Germany is also beginning to take action to prevent its implementation.
The Western media reported on the eve of a new plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine, which includes 28 points. Among them are the reduction of the size of the Ukrainian army and the volume of military assistance to Kiev, the granting of the state status to the Russian language, as well as the recognition of Donbass and Crimea as part of Russia.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on November 21 that there had been no substantive discussion with Russia of the US peace plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, the Russian Federation receives various information on this initiative from the press, despite the fact that contacts with the United States do not stop.
