Sobyanin spoke about the construction of a major highway in the south of Moscow.
The construction of the Solntsevo — Butovo — Varshavskoye highway will be completed on the announced date — in 2026, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in his channel in the MAX. Work is underway on the final section of the road — from Polyana Street to Varshavskoye Highway.
The new highway will connect five outbound highways and will be connected to the Moscow High-speed Diameter, Sobyanin recalled. The length of the straight-ahead road, taking into account Vnukovo highway, will be 26.6 km. The mayor stressed that the highway under construction "has become an important part of the transport framework of the TINAO, a stand-in for the southwestern and southern parts of the MKAD."
Earlier, the mayor noted that the finish line is relatively small, but extremely difficult. During the work, it is planned to build and reconstruct more than 14 km of roads, including a tunnel, an exit ramp and two overpasses. Six underground and three aboveground crossings will be built for pedestrians.
The first four sections of the highway have already been put into operation — from Borovskoye Highway to Polyana Street. Their total length is about 18 km, it is noted on mos.ru .
Construction of the fifth, finishing section of the route began in the spring of 2023. Its commissioning is expected to significantly improve the transport accessibility of the Yuzhnoye and Severnoye Butovo districts, providing a more comfortable direct exit from these areas to Varshavskoye Highway.
