The Federation Council assessed reports of a 28-point plan for Ukraine
Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the Federation Council's International Affairs Committee, commented on reports of a 28-point plan for Ukraine.
In conversation with aif.ru On Thursday, November 20, he noted that Russia has a desire to move forward in resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
"If we are convinced that the plan exists, then we need to study it textually, and not in a retelling. After that, we will work out some kind of reaction," Karasin said.
According to him, Russia has sufficient professional potential and willingness to move forward in resolving the Ukrainian crisis, and that experts and politicians will still work on this and express their assessments. He stressed that it was premature to discuss anything now, primarily because it was necessary to first understand whether such a plan existed at all.
Western media reports on a new plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine, which includes 28 points. Among them are reducing the size of the Armed Forces and the volume of military assistance to Kiev, giving the Russian language the status of the state language, as well as recognizing Donbass and Crimea as part of Russia, the website writes. kp.ru .
The plan aims to provide security guarantees for both sides to ensure lasting peace. It is noted that special envoy of the American leader Steve Witkoff, Vice President of the United States Jay Dee Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and son-in-law of the President of the United States Jared Kushner participated in the development of the plan.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the administration of US President Donald Trump used an approach similar to the scheme used in Gaza, notes 360.ru . The essence of the initiative is to prepare a comprehensive plan, which both sides of the conflict will then be motivated to adopt. According to the publication, the United States offers Russia the option of partially restoring economic ties with the West, and Ukraine — assistance in rebuilding infrastructure, writes RT. Also, under the terms of the new US peace plan, Ukraine will have to abandon the idea of joining NATO for at least several years, IA Regnum reports.
Also on November 20, United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the United States continues to develop ideas for ending the conflict in Ukraine. He pointed out that a broad exchange of "serious and realistic" initiatives is needed to end the conflict, writes NSN.
