The Akhmat-Hadji Kadyrov International Airport in Grozny (Severny) is becoming the most important transport hub in the Caucasus. This was announced on November 20 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a visit to the exhibition at the Transport of Russia forum.

"Grozny is becoming the most important transportation hub of the entire Caucasus," he said.

Along with this, Mishustin commissioned a new command and control center at the airport of Chechnya. The Telegram channel of the government of the Russian Federation noted that the opening of the point will increase the airport's capacity, meanwhile, the number of take-off and landing operations will almost triple - from 14 to 50 per day.

"The construction of a new command and control center and a complex of flight radio equipment has become one of the key stages of the project," the Telegram channel of the Government of the Russian Federation says.

In addition, Mishustin launched other infrastructure facilities in the regions, including new passenger terminals at Izhevsk and Murmansk airports, sections of the Donetsk–Novoazovsk–Sedovo highways and a bypass of Bogdanovich in the Sverdlovsk region.

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin, in congratulating workers and veterans of the transport industry, called the strategically important role of transport in achieving Russia's national development goals. He noted that the strengthening of Russia's economic, industrial, and technological sovereignty and the social well-being of its citizens largely depend on the competence and responsible attitude of industry workers.
