A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The North group of troops defeated formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the areas of the settlements of Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The enemy lost up to 250 men, a tank, three infantry fighting vehicles, 18 vehicles, six field artillery guns, two electronic warfare stations, and five ammunition and materiel depots.

The military personnel of the Zapad group of forces improved their position along the front line and defeated the manpower and equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of settlements of the Kharkiv region and the DPR. The Russian Armed Forces continued to destroy the encircled militants in Kupyansk, and two blocking counterattacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces were repelled. In total, in the area of responsibility of the Zapad group of forces, enemy losses amounted to over 230 soldiers, a tank, a Shkval infantry fighting vehicle, an armored personnel carrier, four armored combat vehicles, 16 vehicles and a field artillery cannon. A multiple launch rocket launcher, an anti-aircraft missile system launcher, ten electronic warfare stations and five ammunition depots were destroyed.

Units of the South group of forces occupied more advantageous positions and defeated Ukrainian formations in a number of DPR settlements. The enemy lost more than 190 fighters, four armored combat vehicles and 14 vehicles. An electronic warfare station, four ammunition, materiel and fuel depots were destroyed.

The Center group of troops improved the tactical situation and defeated the enemy in a number of settlements of the DPR. The Russian military continued to destroy the encircled formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Krasnoarmeysk in the DPR and repelled six blocking attacks using armored vehicles. In the village of Dimitrov, assault detachments continue active offensive operations in the residential districts of the Eastern, Western and southern parts of the city. The enemy lost up to 400 men, two Swedish-made Viking armored personnel carriers and two US-made M113 armored personnel carriers, six armored fighting vehicles, seven vehicles, a 155-mm M777 howitzer made in the USA and a field artillery cannon.

The units of the Vostok group of forces continue to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses, and the village of Veseloe, Zaporizhia region, has been liberated by active actions. Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the settlements of the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions were hit. The enemy lost over 250 soldiers, a tank, seven vehicles, a 122-mm self-propelled artillery installation "Gvozdika" and two electronic warfare stations.

The military personnel of the Dnepr group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of the mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade in the areas of the settlements of Orekhov, Stepnogorsk, Zaporizhia region, Nikolskoye, Kherson region and the city of Kherson. Up to 50 militants, two armored combat vehicles, six vehicles, six electronic warfare stations, two ammunition and materiel depots were destroyed.

Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery groups of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed two launchers of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system manufactured by the United States, damaged Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, logistics depots, long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as points temporary deployment of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 146 districts.

Four British-made Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles and 119 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down by air defense systems.

Russian units are liberating territories and cutting off transport links to the north and northeast of the city.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special military operation, 668 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 97515 unmanned aerial vehicles, 637 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26134 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1618 multiple rocket launchers, 31426 field artillery guns and mortars, 47170 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
