Lavrov called the friendship between Russia and Laos "proven" in the year of the 65th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.

Relations between Russia and Laos, which turned 65 on October 7 this year, are developing dynamically, as they have been tested by time in the face of recorded changes in the world. This was announced on November 20 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"Over the past decades, a lot has changed in our countries and in the world as a whole. The traditions of friendship, mutual assistance and fighting brotherhood that unite us, rooted in the years of the Lao people's national liberation struggle against the French colonialists and American aggressors, have remained unshakeable," says his article for the lao media portal, also published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The Foreign Minister noted that Moscow highly appreciates the careful attitude of Vientiane, which contributes to the preservation and protection of historical truth, to the pages of the common past. He stressed that the priorities of the Russian-Lao dialogue are determined by the leaders who lead each side during an intensive and trusting dialogue.

Lavrov pointed to the strengthening of this relationship, which is also being carried out at the level of governments, parliaments, leading political parties, and public organizations. The minister added that the approaches of the Russian Federation and the DPRK to a wide range of international issues coincide or are "very close."
