The UK has requested permission to initiate cases against six Russian judges.

Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, has requested that his office be allowed to institute criminal proceedings against six judges. This was announced on November 19 by the Higher Qualification Board of Judges of Russia.

"The Qualification Board will consider the submissions of the chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on giving consent to the initiation of criminal cases," the report says.

It is noted that among the six alleged defendants are both current and retired judges.
