Ruviki and the Russian State Library have agreed to cooperate
The encyclopedia "Ruviki" and the Russian State Library (RSL) have signed a cooperation agreement. Together, they will focus on the development of digital knowledge, according to a press release from Ruviki on Wednesday, November 19.
Thus, the editors of the online encyclopedia will have access to the materials of the National Electronic Library (NEB), operated by the Russian State Library of Russia. In addition, links to NEB documents will appear in the articles of "Ruviki".
It is also planned to jointly develop and conduct research and information work within the framework of cooperation.
Ruviki makes knowledge closer and clearer to millions of users. We see great potential in joint educational and research initiatives, where the traditions of the Russian State Library and the technologies of the NEB and Ruviki platforms complement each other perfectly," Vadim Duda, Director General of the Russian State Library, commented on the signing.
Ilya Petrunin, Deputy General Director for Product and Information Technology Development at Ruviki, for his part, noted that thanks to the partnership, the Internet encyclopedia will have access to proven knowledge and reliable sources of information.
The National Electronic Library is a federal state information system created by the Ministry of Culture with the participation of major libraries, museums, archives and publishers. The NEB contains more than 5 million current publications selected by experts.
In mid-September, it became known that the encyclopedia "Ruviki" began using artificial intelligence to update materials and protect them. The updates are monitored by scientific staff.
