- Mikhail the cat was accepted into the service of the museum of Zabaikalsky Nerchinsk
A new employee has appeared at the Museum of Local Lore in Nerchinsk (Zabaykalsky Krai). He became a black and white cat named Mikhail. He joined the security guard position.
According to the ChitaMedia news agency, referring to the museum staff, Mikhail copes with his duties "perfectly." He disperses and traps mice in the museum's back rooms, and guards the territory of the Butinsky Palace at night. Mikhail prefers to relax on antique armchairs among French mirrors.
The museum said that the cat came to the museum about a month ago of his own free will, and presented his whiskers, paws and tail as documents "when applying for service." After that, he was given the nickname Mikhail and given the right to stay in office around the clock.
Earlier it was reported that the museum of local lore in the city of Borzya in the Trans-Baikal Territory presented a new exhibit — the fossilized remains of an ancient Lycoptera fish. Its age is about 150 million years old. The remains were found in a layer of volcanic ash.
