Christmas Tree toys with Soviet cartoon characters became very popular among Muscovites on marketplaces in 2025. This was reported in the press services of a number of online platforms on Wednesday, November 19.

The Wildberries press service noted that in Moscow, since the beginning of November, the turnover of Christmas tree toys on the site has increased by 70%, which is 63% more than in the same period of 2024.

"Most often this year we bought a pair of jewelry "Two turtledoves", in second place — a hand-painted glass retro toy. We are also seeing a trend for toys based on Soviet cartoons, for example, with Matroskin the cat and Pechkin the postman," the Moscow City News agency quotes the message.

The Yandex Market press service also noted the popularity of Soviet cartoon characters in New Year's decor. The company clarified that Muscovites most often buy Christmas Tree toys with the characters of Soviet cartoons — "Winnie the Pooh" and "Nu, Pogodi!", as well as decorations with the symbol of 2026 — a red fiery horse.

The Avito press service said that interest in New Year's themed goods in the capital began to grow actively in November.

"Compared to the same period last year, sales increased by 9%. Glass Christmas Tree toys turned out to be the most in—demand New Year's Eve product — sales increased by 57% compared to the previous year," the service said.

Earlier in the day, RT reported, citing the results of an Avito survey, that Russians plan to spend about 14,000 rubles on gifts on average this year. Moreover, this amount is higher for men — 16 thousand rubles, while women are going to spend an average of 25% less.

On November 11, antique dealer, collector and art critic Ekaterina Burkova told Moskva 24 that New Year's Tree toys produced in the USSR from 1936 to 1970 have historical and cultural value, which affects their value.

She clarified that New Year's toys from the Soviet era in good condition can cost from three to five thousand rubles apiece, and rare copies are much more expensive. 360.ru .
