A checkpoint across the Russian state border will be opened at the seaport of Mariupol in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was reported on the government's website on November 19.

"A permanent multi-sided cargo checkpoint across the Russian state border will be equipped in the seaport of Mariupol. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin," the message says.

It is noted that this decision will allow the development of port and other infrastructure, contributing to the expansion of domestic and foreign trade, as well as the disclosure of the economic potential of the DPR.

The government indicated that the length of the berthing line of the seaport of Mariupol is almost 4 km. It is the largest and deepest port in the Azov region and can accommodate ships at 12 cargo berths.

Earlier, on October 26, the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, said that after the end of the special military operation in the region, ports would be restored. According to him, international trade lines will also resume, as both Russian and foreign companies are already showing interest in this area.
