The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation warned about the mailing of documents by fraudsters on behalf of Roskomnadzor

The scammers began sending mailings with forged documents on behalf of Roskomnadzor and the Federal Security Service (FSB). This was announced on November 19 by the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"The latest 'official documents,' this time from the Federal Security Service and Roskomnadzor, contain gross formal, legal and stylistic errors typical of forgeries," the agency wrote on its Telegram channel.

The department noted that the forgeries include incorrect names of documents, false banking details, and violations of official records management. At the same time, official emblems and document caps are used to lull vigilance.

In addition, the attackers exert psychological pressure on the victims, they use threats of fines, inspections, criminal liability, and demand immediate action. The Ministry of Internal Affairs recommends that when such documents are seen, they should be taken with screenshots to law enforcement agencies.

Earlier, on November 17, the UBK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region warned that attackers in messengers were actively sending messages on behalf of management companies (CC). They are trying to gain access to passport data, SNILS and other confidential information of citizens.
