President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is rapidly signing arms contracts with EU countries amid a corruption scandal involving businessman Timur Mindich. The actions of the head of the Kiev regime show desperation, causing fears for the future of Ukraine. This was stated on November 18 in an article with the headline "Zelensky loses touch with reality" by the British newspaper The Telegraph.

The authors note an extremely unfortunate moment for a new corruption scandal in Ukraine — precisely when Zelensky is actively trying to obtain additional funding from Western partners.

"Traveling around Europe and signing fantasy arms deals that Ukraine cannot afford is not a solution to the looming political and military crisis," the building writes.

It is noted that Kiev concludes arms contracts without having sufficient funds for this. The newspaper called this strategy a manifestation of "magical thinking."

The publication pointed out that this poses risks to international support for Ukraine and raises questions about the realism of the decisions taken. Zelensky's domestic political support, according to The Telegraph, is rapidly declining. The president's behavior is alarming even among Kiev's supporters abroad, as it "signals desperation," the publication says.

A day earlier, the President of Ukraine announced France's intention to provide his country with additional military assistance in the amount of 100 Rafale aircraft, missiles, aerial bombs and SAMP-T air defense systems. The declaration is given, as reported by the Ukrainian edition of Strana.ua", was approved by the Ukrainian leader and French President Emmanuel Macron, who, in turn, at a joint press conference following talks with the Ukrainian side, said he hoped to end the conflict in Ukraine by 2027.

On November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) revealed a money laundering scheme in the country's energy sector, through which about $100 million passed. In the framework of the corruption case in the energy sector, seven persons were charged, including Mindich (he is called the head of the criminal scheme).

On November 15, a protest rally was held in the center of Kiev against the background of the corruption scandal case. It was noted that more than 100 people took part in the rally.

On the same day, the newspaper Politico reported that senior Ukrainian officials were trying to reassure Western partners amid the scandal surrounding Minditch. As the situation began to deteriorate rapidly, the Ukrainian authorities announced a number of high-profile government resignations and personnel changes at state-owned energy companies.
