The Ministry of Finance has prepared similar measures in case of confiscation of Russian assets

The Ministry of Finance has prepared a draft response in case of unfriendly actions by European countries against Russian assets. This was announced on November 18 by the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov.

"The project is like this (response. Measures have already been prepared in case unfriendly actions are taken by Western countries. So such a package is included in our proposals," TASS quoted Siluanov as saying.

According to him, Russian measures will be similar to Western ones regarding Russian assets.

Earlier in the day, Finnish President Alexander Stubb announced that the EU and Belgium would take a decision on the confiscation of frozen assets of Russia. He also expressed confidence that European countries will be able to develop a common approach to financing Ukraine.

The day before, the head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula Von der Leyen, sent the EU countries the text of her plan to expropriate Russia's assets in favor of Ukraine. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in turn, called the initiative striking at a time when it became obvious to EU countries that the Ukrainian "military mafia" was spending European taxpayers' money on its own needs.

On November 1, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, responding to a question from Izvestia about a possible interim loan from the European Union to Ukraine, compared this financing with terrorism.
