- The refugee spoke about the difference in attitude towards the residents of Krasnoarmeysk between the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Evacuated from the occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) On November 18, the mayor of Krasnoarmeysk (the Ukrainian name is Pokrovsk) spoke about how Ukrainian militants treated the residents of the city.
"We've been sitting in basements for months, trying not to come out, because who are we to them? Waiting for you, enemies, and the like. It was possible to catch a drone, and they could have shot it," he told Izvestia military correspondent Alexander Safiulin.
The man said that upon the arrival of the Russian fighters, the power supply was promptly restored and Internet access was provided, which allowed the evacuees to contact their loved ones. A medic who was present provided assistance to those in need.
After the condition of the wounded improved, Russian servicemen handed over food to the evacuees. Unlike the Ukrainian militants, who, according to the refugee, appropriated humanitarian aid, the Russian military distributed food to everyone.
Ruslan Shakhun, a serviceman of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of Ukraine, who surrendered to the 30th separate motorized Rifle brigade of the Center group of forces, said on November 17 that the AFU militants had exchanged fire with each other while trying to unblock Krasnoarmeysk. According to him, in the very first minutes after the landing, he heard on the radio that most of those who had landed had already been injured, while others were not in touch. The Shahun himself was also wounded.
