Guard Sergeant Alexander Maksimov destroyed an enemy FPV drone during a special military operation, ensuring the safety of personnel and military equipment. This was announced on November 18 by the Russian Defense Ministry.
Maximov, who holds the position of deputy platoon commander – gun commander in a howitzer artillery battery, discovered an approaching enemy FPV drone while suppressing the enemy's fire and supporting the advancing infantry. Without hesitation, Maximov opened fire with small arms, protecting the equipment and his comrades.
His timely and competent actions led to the destruction of the drone at a safe distance, which allowed the artillery crew to continue effectively defeating the enemy. Thanks to Sergeant Maximov's determination, the enemy's attack was repulsed, losses of personnel and equipment were prevented, and the assigned combat mission was successfully completed.
The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the decisive actions of the guard of Junior Sergeant Stepan Kosogorov, who is serving in the military as a radiotelephonist.
During the offensive in one of the sectors of the front, a unit under the command of a junior sergeant provided fire support to the assault groups. When an enemy mortar attack damaged the communication line, disrupting fire control, Junior Sergeant Kosogorov showed exceptional courage.
Under heavy fire, he overcame dangerous territory, found and repaired the damage, restoring critical communications. Thanks to his dedication and determination, the division was able to continuously support the offensive, inflicting damage on the enemy.
