Restoration work has been completed in the lobby of the Pashkov House on Liteyny Prospekt in St. Petersburg. Two statues of bison have returned there again.

As he writes 78.ru With reference to Smolny's press service, these life-size statues of bison are a key element in the design of the mansion's lobby. The sculptures appeared there in 1901. To the right of the entrance is the "Bellowing Bison" created by Hugo Zaleman, to the left is the "Walking Bison" by Robert Bach. The animal figures symbolized the Department of Estates, which was previously located in the Pashkov house. The institution was engaged in the land and forest lands of the royal family, including Belovezhskaya Pushcha.

During the restoration of the figures, many defects were revealed: peeling of varnish and paint, cracks, chips. Besides, the sculptures were very dirty. St. Petersburg experts have developed a separate color scheme for each surface area. As a result, the specialists managed to bring the modern tinting as close as possible to the author's.

They also restored the unique multi-layered coating of the sculptures, giving the plaster the color of real bronze.
Mosaic floors were recreated in the lobby, original lighting was restored, and the wooden vestibule and window frames were restored.

The building was built in 1841-1845 by architect Harald Bosse for Captain Ivan Pashkov's headquarters. After the revolution, government and public organizations were located there. A third floor was built over the courtyard buildings. In 2024, it was decided to create a multifunctional platform in the Pashkov house for the exchange of scientific and practical experience in the field of restoration, for educational and cultural events.

At the end of July, it was reported that the restoration of the Great Choral Synagogue, which is an object of cultural heritage of federal significance, began in St. Petersburg. It is planned to complete the work by the end of 2027. The project provides for the restoration of the dome, restoration and repair of the roof, wooden and metal rafter system.
