In the Irkutsk region, experts have discovered the trichinosis virus in the meat of a slaughtered wild boar. The disease is dangerous for humans.
According to IrkutskMedia news agency, the wild boar was hunted in the territory of the Usolsky district. Information about the detection of the virus has been transmitted to the service for the protection and use of wildlife in the region.
Since the beginning of 2025, state inspectors have taken 1,76 thousand samples of biological material. 72 positive tests for salmonellosis and helminthiasis of wild fauna were registered. Meat from harvested wild boars and bears is necessarily subjected to veterinary examination in order to test for the presence of trichinella. Experts note that it is enough for a person to consume 10-15 grams of infected meat to become infected.
In Sevastopol, at the end of October, a marten bit a man. The animal made its way into the house through an open window. The examination of pathological samples confirmed the infection of the animal with rabies.
