Vehicle checkpoints on the border with Kazakhstan and China are operating normally. The Federal Customs Service (FCS) reported this to the Kommersant newspaper on November 17.

The media previously reported significant queues for car imports at the Russian border. According to the Federal Customs Service, peak load days were observed at the end of October, but the customs authorities took all measures to allow vehicles to pass as soon as possible.

According to the service, since the beginning of November, 1,000 trucks (5.5 thousand vehicles) have arrived in Russia through automobile checkpoints in Primorsky Krai, which is almost four times higher than in the same period last year. Because of this, clusters of trucks appeared at the entrances to individual temporary storage warehouses. Subsequently, the number of places for completing customs transit was increased and work shifts were strengthened, the department added.

According to the Federal Customs Service, checkpoints on the border with Kazakhstan and China are currently operating normally, ensuring all import of vehicles.

Earlier, on September 24, the Federal Customs Service commented on the data on the accumulation of trucks on the border of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan. The agency explained that customs officers, based on appeals from entrepreneurs and to combat gray imports, carry out traditional verification measures to stop the import of products dangerous to citizens.
