Dmitry Shugaev, Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), spoke on November 17 about the portfolio of Russian arms export agreements with the states of the Middle East and North Africa, estimated at several tens of billions of dollars.

According to him, these regions remain one of the main areas of Moscow's military-technical cooperation: a significant part of the existing contracts fall on these states. The total volume of Russia's foreign arms orders currently stands at about $60 billion.

"The countries of these regions account for a significant part of the contracts concluded by Russia in the military-technical sphere. The order book of the countries of these regions is estimated at several tens of billions of US dollars," he told RIA Novosti on the eve of the opening of the aerospace salon in Dubai.

Earlier, on September 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the state not only covers the needs of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in aviation and military equipment, but also supplies it for export. He also called Russian technology modern and efficient.
