In the UK, about 2,000 people took part in a protest against plans to house 600 asylum seekers at a military camp in Crowborough. This was reported on November 16 by the Daily Mail newspaper.

"Residents walked through the city with their children, demanding that the government abandon its plan to use an army camp for male migrants," the publication says.

It is specified that the contingent of asylum seekers consists of single male refugees, which causes concern among the population of the city with a population of about 20 thousand people.

"Local residents reported that for security reasons they had already installed an alarm system in their homes," the newspaper points out.

It is noted that earlier the barracks of the military camp were also used to accommodate Afghan families evacuated during the withdrawal of troops from Kabul in 2021.

Earlier, on November 15, the BBC reported that migrants had turned the Cherwell River in Oxfordshire into a multi-ton landfill for household waste. Official sources attribute the appearance of the dump to the activities of an organized criminal group, but social media users point to the massive dumping of waste by migrants from India and Pakistan.

On November 4, The Times newspaper reported on the UK record for the number of asylum applications from migrants. Thus, the number of asylum applications submitted in 2024 exceeded 108 thousand. It is specified that in 2024 there were 28% more requests than in 2023 (84 thousand). The last record was set in 2002: 103 thousand requests were made then.
