Pushkov commented on threats to China from the Estonian Foreign Minister
During a trip to China, Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna threatened China with severance of relations due to cooperation between China and Russia. Alexey Pushkov, Senator of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, commented on the politician's statement on November 12 in the Telegram channel.
"The minister is from a country with a population of 1.3 million people and a tiny GDP (gross domestic product. — Ed.) decided to threaten China as well. It sounds like this: "If China wants to maintain good relations with Estonia, then these issues need to be resolved." This is, of course, a pearl," he wrote.
As the senator suggested, China did not pay attention to such "threats."
Prior to that, on November 11, Tsakhna stated that China has the opportunity to quickly end the Ukrainian conflict if it makes an appropriate decision. He also stressed that China is allegedly increasingly influencing Russian politics.
Also on October 30, Liu Pengyu, a spokesman for the Chinese diplomatic mission in Washington, called the Ukrainian conflict a consequence of rising tensions in Europe in recent years. He believes that a solution to the crisis should be reached at the negotiating table, taking into account the legitimate security interests of all parties involved.
