Tesla has introduced a mandatory condition for suppliers — not to use Chinese components in the production of machines for the American market. This was reported on November 15 by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing sources.

It is clarified that the decision is related to the increase in US duties on Chinese imports and geopolitical risks.

The sources of the publication noted that Tesla has already replaced some of the Chinese parts with components from other countries and intends to completely abandon supplies from China "within a year or two." The company has strengthened its diversification strategy after disruptions in the supply of microchips and export restrictions imposed by Beijing.

Tesla's chief financial officer Vaibhav Taneja confirmed the course towards restructuring logistics, but noted that "it will take time." The manufacturer is also preparing to release LFP batteries in the United States in order to reduce dependence on Chinese CATL and maintain access to tax benefits.

Earlier, on November 3, the Reuters news agency reported that sales of the American electric car manufacturer Tesla in Norway, Sweden and Denmark fell in October 2025, which shows the tension in the electric car market in Europe. It was noted that the drop in sales is due to the obsolescence of their models, while Chinese competitors are releasing new models of electric vehicles at a rapid pace.
