The US State Department has approved the sale of Standard Missile 6 Block I and Standard Missile 2 Block IIIC missiles to Germany for about $3.5 billion. This was announced on November 14 by the Agency for Defense and Security Cooperation (DSCA). USA in a press release.
"The State Department has decided to approve the possible sale of Standard Missile 6 Block I and Standard Missile 2 Block IIIC missiles to the German government abroad, as well as related equipment worth about $3.5 billion," the statement said.
It is noted that Germany intends to purchase 173 units of Standard Missile 6 (SM-6) Block I and 577 units of Standard Missile 2 Block IIIC. In addition, the deal includes the supply of vertical launchers (VLS) on which the missiles will be placed. The deal will also include component parts, testing and transportation equipment.
